Danscomp.com and picking a bike!?

I decided to go with a BMX freestyle bike rather than a silly folder one. I was doing research and saw several people suggest danscomp.com and they seem fair with their prices..

I haven't ridden a bike in 15 years (I'm 23) and as of right now, I don't plan on doing any tricks so I don't need an 800 dollar bike that weighs one plb. I know the lighter they get, the more expensive they are..

Anyway, how do I choose one that's right for me? What's the best brand to go with? I don't want to spend more than 350.

Also, any other tips and suggestions would be great.. Thanks!
Actually, after doing a little youtubing, I wouldn't mind trying some tricks out!

Honestly, if you're 23 and not looking to do tricks... I wouldnt recommend a BMX bike at all. They're really small for one and are pretty much only good for doing tricks. You should look into a 26" hardtail mountain bike or, at the least, a 24" 'cruiser' type bike. Either one will be much more fun for riding around and a mountain bike will give you a range of gears to use as well, making climbing hill that much easier.

I really only suggest BMX to someone if they're really focused on learning to do tricks.

First off, Danscomp is US mailorder site so if you are in Canada, I'd try to look at 3ride or bmxtransition. But if you are in the US then it's good.

If weight isn't a big issue, DK bikes are pretty good in your price range because they have small sprockets to make it easier into halfpipes and stuff, decent amount of chromoly. I'd take a look into the DK Helio.

Another brand I would look at are the Kink bikes. The Kink Gap weighs almost 2 lbs lighter than the helio but it doesn't have that full chromoly frame.

So if you won't be doing much tricks then a full chromoly frame is probably not going to be needed therefore, I would suggest the Kink Gap.
