Dancing With the Stars Simsub on Bell

Was watching Dancing with the Stars last night on ABC/HD West at 9PM MDT.

The CTV logo was in the corner of the sceen for the first 90 minutes with lots of video freezes, the audio was just OK. The last 30 minutes the logo was ABC/HD, better quality audio and no video freezes.

Why would CTV do the first 90 and ABC the last 30 minutes ??

This was a simsub. CTV has the Canadian rights to the show, therefore they can have their signal substituted for the ABC feed. This way they get more advestising. As you mention, the audio/video was bad, so your service provider removed the simsub (way too late).
