I want to buy new sneakers for the gym and my martial arts class, and I'm going between dance sneakers and PUMAs because both are regularly cheap while still being approximately what I'm looking for. Has anyone worn dance sneakers to the gym or done martial arts in them?
Martial arts and dance are very similar in many ways and I see no reason for why dance shoes shouldn't work for it - if anything, they may work as good or better than MA shoes. But for the gym....

These are the dance sneakers i'm looking at - and for martial arts, as nice as arch support is, my personal style (we're a club that just teaches one another different styles) often ends up with me on my toes and not my heels anyway.
