Dance dilemma...what to do?

i transferred colleges, so i am a sophomore and this is my first year at the school i am at. im in a sorority and we are having a formal dance soon. i dont know any guys on campus (at least not well enough to ask them to be my date). BUT, i do really like this guy from my old school (4 hours away) and was wondering if it would be weird to ask him? we are still really close, and he travels up to four hours some other weekends to visit family, so i dont know if it would be that hard for him. But i was just wondering what people's opinions were on this.

defiantly ask him :) if he can't go, he can't go. Ask someone else or just go with friends.
