I do not get like regular acne or pimples. my cheeks continue to get the cystic kind. what can I do? ny son has it too, they have given him Doryx, Benzaclin, and Differen 3 and his is just the same. the meRAB are helping the regular but we can not get them to clear up the bumpy ones. and I know you are not supposed to pop them but when I do they smell so bad. I also can just squeeze my face and this horrible smelling white stuff comes out. please help I am 33 and this has been my whole life.

I think you need to a see a dermatologist. And Inquire about accutane. Explain how long you had them, what you gone through to treat them, basically the entire 411.

Hello. Yeah I would definately encourage you also to see a dermatologist. I have suffered from cystic acne for about 5 years. I was on many antibiotics, contraceptive pills, topical lotions and the roaccutane. Roaccutane/accutane works wonders, but I could only last three months with it as I had bad side effects and couldn't cope with it anymore. My acne did however clear. A year later and it comes back, I did think deep down about giving it another go if i needed to but wanted to explore other options first as my acne was not as bad as it previously had been. I really hope you get to see a dermatologist soon and work out the best treatment plan for you xxx

They 'smell' bad? Hmm, sounRAB like an infection of some sort... perhaps even a low grade Staph which might explain why your son experiences the same symptoms. Go get the soap antibacterial soap 'Safeguard' which contains triclocarban 1.2% from a drug store like CVS or RiteAid and use it till you see a doctor. This is not a fix but will kill any external bacteria. Inflammation should subside a bit.
