cylnder misfire in a 1999 jeep grand chroeekke?

i have a 1999 jeep grand chroekkee and i made a stupid mistake and washed the engine with a hose the next day i felt the car shaking and i took it to the shop and he said i have a misfire in the 1st cylender is it because its wet and when it drys it will be fine or is it a serious problem.and is there any way i can fix it myself.
please help!
 
Your mechanic is probably right. But of you want to drive it before then try this.
Remove the distributor cap and check for moisture. Dry anything you see wet. If you have access to compressed air it would help but I'm guessing you dont. Thos cans of clean air for cleaning your computer will work also.
Then spray a light coat of WD-40 into the cap. Don't go crazy here, it only takes a very light mist.
Put it back together and go for a test drive.
