I have a 2002 chevy suburban. For about a month I was mysteriously losing coolant and then the car started idling very badly so I took it to a mechanic and I had porous cylinder heads and they fixed that problem a week ago. the car is no longer leaking coolant but running horribly. I was saying random cylinder misfire and now just says cylinder 8 misfire. Someone told me it might be from the previous coolant leak had fouled my plugs. So today I changed plugs, wires on the engine and the coil on cylinder 8. It is still running horrible and since I had it fixed last week I cant afford to take it back for a different problem. Any ideas? The porous heads problem was because bad cylinder heads made by cast tech (or something like that) were put on GM cars and they never recalled or anything.

the only two other issues you could have is fuel injector or coil. If it has individual injectors that you can see on the outside of of the intake then its mostlikely the coil. If it is a SFI(sequential Fuel Injection)the injector is a part referred to as a spider fuel injector. it is inside the upper intake and looks like a spider. I would try this.
Take the coil from cylinder #8 and swap it with another cylinder, clear the codes and see if the misfire changer cylinders. This will not cost anything for you can do the work yourself.
If it doesnt suspect the injector
