I'm starting to feel more inadequate around my friends who are mostly into martial arts and weight lifting and I feel kinda awkward for my size cause I'm big but have little muscle. I'm 5'9" and I'm almost 200 lbs and I'd like to change that. It's my senior year of high school and I'd like to start off in the right direction.
My favorite physical activity has always been cycling. I'm not like competitive but I like to just ride, put in my iPod, and just "relax". I know it's aerobics and I find it more enjoyable than running. I figure if I cut back on unnecessary food I could probably benefit from that.
However, I'd like to lose about 30-50 lbs if at all possible by the end of the school year. I'm not time pressured, I have about 9 months. Is this possible? If so, do you guys have any tips? I'm not looking to bulk up just losing weight, so if anyone's got any tips.
PS, I've also spent some time in endurance cycling so I know I can ride for a while.
