I heard that zebra danios and feeder fish were best. Also, i dont have the proper equiment to test for nitrates or ammonia. The only test i have handy is a ph test because my parents think that the other tests are unnessary. So how long should i wait for the cycle to finish? How many water changes? And when? But i talked them in to letting me cycle the tank, (took a long time to explain) but they rather me use fish. I have a pond that i could put the feeder goldies in once the cycle is done and my grandma agreed to take the danios if i got them. Oh, and the tank is twenty gallons.
