Okay, here goes, hope I say this in a way that makes sense...
This is so juvenile and high-school-esque, but here I go.
There is this girl Kassi who used to be a good friend to my best friend Malea. Kassi does a lot of things to make a lot of people mad. So, anyways, about a week ago, she was talking crap on Malea, and she was saying how she wished she could get revenge on Kassi for it, but that she wasn't going to because she wanted to be the bigger person.
Then a couple days later, this girl Kelsey, who had the password to Malea's photobucket, (I know, I know, we shouldn't be giving people our passwords, she was just a bit too trusting, but she changed the password now, and isn't giving it to anyone) took some pictures of Kassi with just a bra and underwear on from Malea's photobucket, made a fake FaceBook profile for Kassi, and posted those pictures on it. She edited one of the pictures to say "Nasty" on it and point arrows to Kassi's breasts and butt. Then she sent friend requests to all of Kassi's friends.
When they accepted the friend requests, they started commenting on the pictures and writing on the fake profile's wall saying stuff like "Malea I can't believe you would do this, why are you so jealous of Kassi?" and stuff, saying they were going to get Malea thrown in jail for making the fake profile. They just assumed she did it, and they sent the police to her house. The police came over and they realized it was stupid and juvenile and didn't do anything.
When they realized the police weren't going to do anything about it, they took matters into their own hands and started sending nasty messages to Malea over FaceBook. Its all stupid childish things like "You look like a bulldog, no wonder your boyfriend doesn't wanna marry you or have babies with you, no wonder you were so jealous of Kassi that you made a fake profile of her to try and make her look bad." But this whole thing is just getting out of hand, and Malea doesn't seem to think they are going to stop harassing her online and she thinks they might even show up at her house or something.
And what really gets me is, all these girls are in their 20s!! They should be more mature than this, I mean, I'm only 17 almost 18 and this is way below me, but you know that's just me.
Anyways, we discussed just taking herself out of the situation, but the thing is everybody is involved with everybody. She's involved with her cousin Devyn, who's involved with Jessica, who's involved with Ashlee, who's involved with Kassi, who's involved with Breazy, who is one of the girls who is harassing Malea. Everybody is in everybody's circles, so it's like impossible for her be out of the situation completely unless she moved to a different state or something, and she's not going to do that because her whole life is here and she's especially not going to leave now because her mom has stage 4 cancer.
So, does anybody know if anything can be done? What would the police do about it? Is a restraining order an option? I mean, so far its only cyberbullying, she hasn't had any in-person harassment from these people. So what can be done about this?
