Normally when one film is available on dvd at say, a 15 certificate, there cannot be another higher rated version available at the same time. This policy has now changed and is set to become similar to how North America get their dvRAB. We will be getting the choice of whether or not to buy the film in it's cut or uncut form. The main condition being that the 'Uncut' or 'Director's Cut' versions packaging must be significantly different and "less attractive to underage viewers" .
I think this is a very welcome change from the BBFC that will finally give film collectors like me a better choice of which form to buy their films in and not always having to buy films on region 1 to obtain the fullest cut available. Anyone else agree that this is an excellent decision?
