Customer Service

I have been thinking about switching to Cricket from T-mobile.
1) How is their customer service compared to Straight Talk, or Page Plus Cellular? Does Cricket have good customer service? Are they considered their own carrier or an MNVO like Virgin Mobile, and Boost Mobile?
2) If I port my nuraber over to them, what are the chances of them losing the phone #?
3) If I ever decide to port my nuraber from them and go back to another carrier, what are the chances of them losing the #?
4) Are they easy to work with when it comes to porting from them to another carrier?

Any customer opinions and feedback would be appreciated. Thank you

1) CricKets customer service sucks, big time. It's outsourced to another country, so if you enjoy Apu from The Simpsons you will love CricKets customer service. Alot of them have a very heavy accent. The way thier tiers are set up, even if you get to the "Higher Up" alot of times they can't do anything, because they don't have the "option" on the "computer"
2) DepenRAB where you are at. I have never tried to port my nuraber, but when I asked if they can give me a specific one, they said it was taken. So were the other 10 nurabers I had come up with. Never really heard of carriers loosing nurabers either.
3) Same thing here, I'm not sure as I've never transferred nurabers over.
4) Shouldn't be hard at all, as you ask the representative and if they can't do it, well there's CricKet for you.

My .2

1) your milage will vary. The few times I have had to use them, I actualy got an american. Sometimes they are really good, sometimes they are useless. (I've been with 3 wireless companies and I've yet to find one with "good" customer service honestly. And Cricket is their own carrier, they ar not a prepaid spinoff like virgin or boost.

2) I've ported 3 nurabers to cricket and only had one problem. And that problem wasn't on crickets end. it was the previous carrier screwing around and not releasing the nuraber in a timely maner.

3 and 4) I really have no idea. Haven't left cricket to go to another carrier. But transfering nurabers is a common thing in wireless now so I'd imagine it wouldn't be too bad.

customer service sucks, don't trust the website faqs section they don't follow it.
as for porting you may encounter problems with things like cnam or txt but those have alot to do with the other carrier also.
if they ever do lose your # it will take 48 hrs for them to retrieve it from the original carrier.
the above are my personal experience.
