If a customer is rude to you, do you think its OK to be rude back? (Lately, I've been patronizing to rude customers who come in to the restaurant where I work).
it's never acceptable to be rude to a customer, however if they are very rude (eg if they swear at you) you can advise them that the language they are using is not acceptable and that if they continue you will have to ask them to leave.
