Some wires connecting my O2 sensor on my 07 jeep were recently cut somehow. I am going to repair them on my own by splicing them back together and putting some sort of black tape or butt connectors over them. My question: when I bring it back to the dealership after my lease is up will they give me a hard time or anything being that it was returned with this repair done to it?

No, when you turn in a car, they will check the miles and the body, interior things of that nature. They will not give it to a technician until the turn in is complete and they need to re-sell the vehicle. At this point you are no longer liable for the vehicle. I do on the other hand recommend that you let the dealership do the repair. It is an 07 i am assuming it is still under warranty, what is it going to hurt? If you do the work, and then have future problems with that particular system of the car, they will not fix it under warranty if they see undocumented work done to it. You will end up having to pay cash...and they will make it hurt. Just let the dealership fix it...and then no worries right? I wish you the best
