Current problems in education?

I have to write a paper about a current problem in education and how to solve it. I'm in my first year of college and have only taken one education class so far, so I'm not that educated about the technical stuff in the field itself quite yet.

What is a problem that is very current? (ALL of my sources have to be under 3 years old)
 
check out obama's new ed policies... using incentive pay to make teachers "step up" and be "accountable" for low-performing students who have disabilities and broken homes.
