current event over a few of the things ive learned in biology?

so i have an assignment where i have to find a current event after 2008 that relates to something ive learned in biology, the topics are..... bacteria and viruses.... the main thing to look for is a new way a bacteria or virus is used to cure a disease or illness or if they found a new way to use bacteria or viruses to benefit the community, im having LOADS of trouble looking for a decent one, so please help, thanks
