curious i bought a x box elite does age matter ?

does age matter if i play online games i am 24 years old i don't mind playing with people ages 18 and up just curious if there are people my age on x box i here there is alot of young kids but guess that should not matter well also can you guys point good games to buy right now i really wonna buy some cool games and add new friends
