A tale to tell

He reentered my life as quickly as he had left it; you never left my side.
He was known as the neighborhood misfit; you don’t even lie.
He abused drugs and booze; you’re as clean as they come.
He repeats his mistakes and constantly has to choose; you’re wise to people and see what’s not undone.

He was physically here, you’re by phone.
He never said he loved me nor said he cared, you’ll say it in a room full of people, or even alone.
He has tanned skin, flaxen hair, bright hazel eyes; you’re porcelain, chocolate haired and slightly bigger in size.
He’s seen all the troubles of this world first hand; you’re smarter than that and overall a better man.

He was my summer love, you were my little winter dove.
Two complete opposites had my heart at one time, strangely so, but out of the two…I’ve only seen one go.
He’s my yesterday, you’re my tomorrow.
His friendship with me sadly is time only burrowed.

He came back into my life without a warning; begging and fussin’
I saw his heart break in pieces when I told him I’m in love with you Justin.
He seemed shocked and hurt for what reasons I’ll never know, but he looked like a broken child.
He asked me why and I told him, you weren’t as vile.

I told him all the good things about you because honestly there is no bad.
I told him that I thank God a lot because you’re the best thing I’ve had.
He looked dejected as he picked his heart up and left me standing there in the rain.
I tried to feel for him but yet found it was only feigned.

He was the biggest obstacle I ever came across in my life.
Heh I wonder how he’ll react when you make me your wife.

Yeah I know just about ever sentence starts with "He" but I had wanted it that way, as if I was talking to my boyfriend face to face and showing him the comparisons.
Thank you for your thoughts for thoes of you who do.
