I recently was given a 12 week Siamese kitten. He has always hidden from me since the very first day. He only came out to be fed. This Siamese kitten is out of the norm. When I got him he was lying outside in the dirt under a flower. The owner said if you can catch him you can have him. I caught him only because he was asleep and I picked him up. He bit me on my finger when I picked him up to put him in the car. I could not get him out of the car, so I went to the Humane Society to get him out of the car into the carrier. I get him home and in an attempt to feed him he gets away from he and has been hiding every since, always behind something. He will not come out , only to eat. He only comes out when he hears the door shut and he thinks I am gone, when he realizes that I am in the house he runs and hides again. I have never petted him, never held him, no human contact, because the kitten always runs away.
So last week I got another kitten because the Siamese, Sammie, was around several cats and kittens, I thought he may be lonely. I got this advice from Yahoo Answers, thank you.
The Siamese kitten, Sammie comes out now, but still runs away when I get close to him. He does not have contact with the new kitten .The only contact he has now, which is an improvement, is that he sits and stares at both of us at a distance of about 10 feet in the door way of the kitchen to the den, still running away and hiding when I get close to him.
I have done all I know to get to be close to this kitten. Nothing works. I also talk to him, coax him with toys, food. I tried Kity Calm, Catnip, and even a new playmate. Please let me know your feeling, experience, and suggestions. I am open to all. THANKS IN ADVANCE. I am very concerned about why this kittens behaves this way
He does not interact with the new kitten either.
PLEASE HELP US
