oops...I've opened up one of the biggest debates known to Christianity.
But I'm curious Christians..what do you think about music.
Ok lets make things simpler. Lets forget about "secular" music and just stick with Christian music. For those of you who believe stuff like Christian rock and hip hop is wrong..can you state your biblical evidence to back it up? And those who believe it's ok...can you back it up as well?
Some rules. Please refrain from using opinion. And don't use 1Thessalonians 5:22 about the appearance of evil..If one looks at the Greek(like the newer translations do) the verse says stay away from all FORMS of evil...not appearance..the kjv isn't always too accurate. ONE more thing. Don't use Romans 12:2 It is talking about conforming to worldly things..what is worldly? sin. if it's not sin then it's not wrong. It's talking about conforming and living in a sinful lifestyle not about making music to praise and talk about God. Cuz then one could argue that sin is on tv therefore we can't watch tv...woops there goes the Passion of Christ movie =/. So don't use those arguments. Thanks.
