curing gerd

Hi everyone, I had a severe case of gerd and I have been on nexium for 5 days. My symptoms have improved slightly but are still there. How long before I can feel complete relief as I was told by the 3rd day you should not have symptoms. Im getting worried. Thanks for any advice
 
It depenRAB on exactly what's going on. After 5 days on Nexium, all your stomach acid is suppressed for sure. But if your symptoms were related to an erosion or irritation in your esophagus, for example, it may take a few weeks to heal.

Since it's clearly helping somewhat, try using more non-drug measures such as eating small meals and avoiding fooRAB and drinks that make you feel worse. Give it a couple weeks. If you're still having significant symptoms even with the Nexium, then go back to the doctor.
 
Thanks Jane! I am happy that it IS improving so I guess I should just be patient. Just want to feel like myself again :)
