cure for a very sticky phlegm

how to cure cough with very sticky phlegm? i can hardly breath...it feels like something's in my throat that can't be expectorated...it's blocking my airway passage...what must i do to get rid of this situation....it really makes me feel nervous....i need help
 
Mucinex helps to thin mucous.

As other poster mentioned, use a warm mist vaporizor to keep air moist.

Be sure to determine the cause and treat that too.
