Culinary Arts help please?

When i grow up, i want to work in the culinary arts. What college should i attend to get far with culinary arts and be successful in life? what part of culinary arts pays the most? What classes should i take in high school to prepare myself? Please explain the basics of culinary arts. Thanks
 
As far as I know, Johnson and Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island is considered to be the premier culinary school in New England. There are probably other good culinary schools around the country, but I am unfamiliar with them.
