Ctscan friday.

Good luck with your CT scan. You are in my thoughts. How did your dr. discover the growth? Did the GI series show it?? Let us know how you make out with your latest test. Bride527
 
Hi bride. No the upper gi didnt show anything wrong. I do have a huge lump right under my left breastbone. I finally got the doctor to see it and then another one looked at it and both saw how swollen it is. They wont know for sure it is a growth until they get my ctscan results back!

I am sooo extremely nervous tonight. I have to drink a rather larger thing of barium. Then i have to wake up at 6 :30 in the morning to drink another big thing of it. Then when i get there i will have to drink another one and then i will have an IV that will have some contrast material in it!
I am sooo not looking forward to it!
I think i will be able to get the barium down better tonight then i did at the doctors office cause the first glass is easiest!:mad:

I hate being sick.
 
So for who doesnt know me, i have gerd and they thought i had a hiatal hernia. I dont. I have a pretty big lump growing and continueing to swell on the left of my stomach. It is like directly under the left breastbone.

WEll my doctor finally took the time to see it and then brought in another doctor to see it and he thinks that it is a growth in the tissue next to the stomach! Great. He said he doesnt think it is cancerous but how would he know if he hasnt seen it or tested it?? any ideas? the other thing he said was maybe fluid is getting trapped in there and if thats the case he said he can do remove that in the office with a needle!!! ((I HATE NEEDLES)) so he isnt sticking it in my stomach!

I am going in for a ct scan on friday. Wish me luck please! i am soo anxious to get the results and figure this out already.

If there is a growth then they are making me do surgery asap in case it does have an cancer in it.
 
Oh Em! I am so sorry to hear this. You will be ok. Just just have to be. You are so young and the doctors will get in there now and get this taken care of. It's no wonder you felt so bad this long. It's about time someone started taking some action on this. I will pray that is will be benign and that is can be removed asap!! Please let us know the results. Hugs and prayers!:angel:
 
Thanks tammy! I need the prayers! I cant believe im about to have to drink more barium tomorrow. I thought i was done with it haha. Ugh maybe after this i will be done with drinking barium for a while!

Im glad my mom was about to kick some doctor butt, thats what it took for them to figure out i need the help. And then when my doctor felt how swollen it is she it started clicking in her head!!!! About time! lol.

I'm glad this part of the book is done with and now we can hopefully move onto fixing it. Hopefully that wont be a big thing.

Actually I have been a bad girl. I haven't taken any meRAB for a few days. I should have at least taken some Tums. Tonight I was bad. I had Fazolli's. BreaRABticks, Spagetti and then went out for a drink. I may as well have lit my stomach on fire. I just couldn't stand not having something that I love so much. Now I will be sucking on a Tums well into the night. Oh ya and I had a dessert too. I am a lost cause tonight. Ugh.....

You will be fine. I am so glad you are getting help. I will pray for you right now!:angel:
 
Hey guys, i got my results back and they ct scanned my organs not my tissue around it so they obviously didnt find anything!!!!
Idiots!

Now i have to go to the doctor on thursday morning to see what he thinks. My mom and i just want a surgeon to take care of it.

I am so scared this is getting to big. Last night it felt like i had a softball in my chest!!! It was very swollen indeed and very painful!

We are just at a loss now.
 
Oh well everyone neeRAB to actually live once in a while!!! Its a full time job trying to keep us healthy! SounRAB delicious though!

I get to drink barium tonight.. Yummy!

Oh Tammy, Thats so sweet!!!

Well the prayers worked so far!
The test was very easy this morning, they made me drink the barium, didnt give me an iv(kinda weird) and then i just slid in a and out of few times and i was done. Took about 30 minutes with a pretty good wait in the waiting room.

I am feeling so much better as far as stress. I am clear with my coach and then my coach from last season. It really helped me clear the stuff on my mind. They know whats going on((short version of course)) and i thanked my coach that cut me this year cause my old one made me realize my "mystery lump" could have ruptured or something and possibly could have killed me if hit hard enough.

She was very taken aback but in a good way. It was nice to get things better with her.
And now im on homeschool as of monday so that will help a huge bunch!

YAH! i think this is when my life is turning around. Now pray for a decent result of the ct scan please!!!
 
Wow Em, it seems like these doctors are not getting to the bottom of this issue. For heaven's sake! You think they would get a picture of everything and at least take an ultra sound or something of the swollen area. I feel so bad that you still don't have an answer. Not having an answer is the worst part. We all want answers good or bad so we can fix the problem. I would find a different doctor, or do whatever you have to do! You are in my prayers sweetie! Hang in there!

Hi Em! So glad the test went smooth and that part is behind you. Now we will keep praying for good results. At least you are being taken care of now. The doctors are at least taking action. That is a blessing. Rest up sweetie and stay in touch! Sleep well tonight!:angel:

Yeah they cant get to the bottom issue here. I am seeing a different doctor this time. He is the MD there, and he said it was a ct scan to see the tissue not organs but my nurse practitioner is the one who wrote up the report so she probably didnt put that it was in the damn TISSUE not organs. Im pretty sure within the week nothing grew lol.
Every week im doing something whether its upper gi's xrays, ctscans,,,,
they will figure it out..

hopefully sooner than later. Not having an answer is really bugging. I just want them to remove everything that shouldnt be in there or doesnt need to be.

Problem 1 solved.
 
They will get it figured out Em. I just know they will. Just keep having the doctors check everything. I know you will get your answer soon!:angel:
 
Hi Tammy,,, I went to the doctor today and he said my ct scan didn't show any growth but it did show that my spleen and my limpth(sp) nodes are swollen. He was concerned about it and could only think that maybe i have mono. He sent me in to do some blood work and then on Tuesday by the latest we can call and get the results. He is concerned about it rupturing and strongly advised me not to let anything hit my abdomen or even press hard.

Do you know anything about the spleen? I tried looking it up on google and found nothing. I dont even know where it is lol.
