Crystal Popup Suite v1.1 - test it please!

This is Mikael S of NewBornGames. It's been quite some time since we released v1 of Crystal Popup Suite, but anyway v1.1 is about to be released soon and we need some beta-testing :)

Crystal Popup Suite is a multi-purpose tool that works very much like a DA or a hack. It includes a calculator, a launcher, notepad, memopad, and a stopwatch/timer. Also displays date/time and battery level. Most importantly, Crystal can be reached from within any program, like a popup , and then return to it.

It should work on practically any OS5 device, including Tungstens, Treo600, Clies etc (though probably not the Zodiac).

What's new in version 1.1?:

* Skin support! Practically every visible aspect of Crystal Popup Suite is now completely reconfigurable.
* Increased number of possible keys to launch popup (now supports Navigator and silkscreen buttons).
* Notepad screen:
o Added popup selection of image functions (undo/clear/clear with current), pens, and colors.
o Added dropper/color pick tool.
o Added possible selection(creation/deletion) of 10 image sets, resulting in a maximum of 100 available notes instead of 10.
o Added export functionality of current note to BMP image on an expansion card.
* Eye screen: Added displaying of date, time, and battery level.
* Improved virtual sikscreen support(T|T3, Clie models, etc): now closes silkscreen automatically when launched (and restores afterwards).
* Notepad & Memo screen: Up/Down-key selection of document now wraps around instead of stopping at the first or last document.
* Popup functionality now automatically enabled on the first run of Crystal Popup Suite.
* Number of testruns in unregistered mode increased from 100 to 150.
* Popup launch now forces 16 bit display.

* Bugfix: New memo contents are no longer lost when exiting popup without tapping the exit button.
* Bugfix: Popup functionality for Treo600 and Tungsten C devices now works with other key activation times than 0.
* Bugfix: Launcher no longer has problems handling deleted or updated applications.
* Bugfix: Binary functions (in the calculator (+-, %, etc) now function properly.
* Bugfix: Stopwatch is now more reliable.

What kind of testing do we need? First, just to make sure it doesn't crash your devices! :) Then, try out all program functions and put it to the test!

Some specifiic things we need to have tested for v1_1:

* Does skins work alright (the included skins are very ugly at the moment, that's not a bug though :))?
* Does closing the virtual silkscreen on launch work alright?
* Does the bugfix for Tro600 and Tungsten C (a key timeout time longer than 0 seconds) really work? (it used to leave the app as soon as it popped up).

As mentioned above, Crystal Popup Suite now supports skins!

That's neat, huh? But we haven't had the time yet to really make any good-looking skins (we're working on it though). The ones included in the zip file above are pretty(ok, very) ugly but should give you an idea of what you *could* do with skins. Also, there is no working lores skin (for treo600 etc).

What we would extremely much appreciate is to find some skinners out there!! We know there must be some who feel the urge to make Crystal Popup Suite the most beautiful program!

All skin contributors will be considered for a free license, of course!
 
Updated both the archives, download them again if you downloaded before. Some small fixes for the program archive (memory saving option for eye screen, can now reach menu by tapping top of screen etc.). Also re-install skins, because they have been slightly expanded.

The program should now work atleast partly for Zodiac users.

Isn't anybody willing to test this? Or are you just silent until you actually had the time to try it? It's a good program, believe! :) We would especially appreciate test by users with Treo and Sony Clie devices.

First of all, we fixed a bug (no skin installed in Skin screen caused a NULL handle crash).

Second, and more interesting perhaps, is we have now added the ability to launch programs from expansion cards in the launcher! This took a lot more work than what it may sound like, we hope you are pleased with the result.


Third, we WANT to make CPS compatible with as many devices as possible, of course, but we don't have that many devices to try on (T|T, T|T3, basically). Your help here is crucial!
