Hey folks, on Dec. 5th I crushed both my arms in a work related accident, I won't go into detail about the incident. My left arm, in the bicep region, is where the bone was completely crushed. My right forearm was completely crushed as well. Both arms have metal plates in them.
Fortunately I have full function in my right arm, except my thumb can't go up. My left, as of right now, I can move my forearm up and down about half a foot. I can barely move my fingers, about half way. And my pinky is slowly getting feeling back. I haven't asked my doctor when he expects me to be at 90 - 100% because I feel like I'll come off ungrateful or impatient since I'm extremely lucky to have both arms.
The question is, any nurses or anyone whose been in a similar injury to this, what should I expect in the months ahead, and how long should I expect to be nursing my left arm?
