Cruise Control Quit Working

Cruise dropped out, re-engaged briefly and won't engage. Removed roll-off contacts to no avail. Shot some contact cleaner into cruise switch and roll-off switch. Cruise light blinks green when starting bike but still won't engage. Cruise did engage briefly on one attempt. Any suggestions?

Mine started acting up, i.e. intermittent operation, then wouldn't engage at all. Then my starter started engaging on its own while riding down the road. Turned out to be the right side handlebar control cluster, replaced a year ago under extended warranty & no further problems.

Checked brake switches, roll-off and error codes. Looks like 242 seems to be the culprit. Error shows when CC switch on and ignition turned on. Sprayed contacts at CC module and CC handlebar switch. What's the next step?

Mine doesnt work also. I tried the roll-off connector and it wasnt that. The brakes dont seem to be going on and off. Mine doesnt engage at all, no green light.

Does the orange "stand-by" cruise light come on? If not, check the fuse- mine popped a couple of times before the handlebar controls were replaced...

No, all I get is a red light on the on/off switch. I have checked the fues, replaced the fues and the fues has not been popped. I know the previous owner had chrome switch caps installed. Im thinking it could be something with the change over.

Many times, when the handlebar control covers are removed, the wires will get pinched when they are reinstalled. Eventually the wire grounds out on the bars & pops a fuse. This happened on mine several times & took out the cruise, headlight, & turn signals. The first time it happened the fuse still looked good to the eye, but when I put a multi-meter on it I found it to be bad.

Other than checking the CC fuse with a meter, I've run out of ideas. Sorry, best of luck getting it figured out.
