Has anyone given evidence via video link before? I talked to one of the people from NSPCC via one today because i have court not this monday but the monday before. I can't look up cos i feel sooo stupid!! Did anyone else feel stupid? I do cos i'm talking to a television and 2 cameras! and i want to be in the court room cos i'm not scared of the defendant. in fact my mum is more scared about being in the court room and seeing the defendant than what i would be. Anyway, has anyone else felt stupid giving live evidence through video link?

I suggest you talk to the Barrister prosecuting the case. Prosecutors prefer a live witness to a video feed. The purpose of the video feed is to protect the juvenile witness from being intimidated by the defendant. However, if you are confident that you will not be intimidated, then tell the QC that.

From a psychological, not legal, point of view as well, many victims find it very empowering to be able to sit in the same court room as their abuser and, in effect, say "Look at me... this time *I* have the power."
