CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -Gina DeJesus is expected to return to her family's west side home shortly.
Amanda Berry returned home a short time ago. After spending years in captivity, Berry returned to her sister's Cleveland home around 11:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Berry's sister, Beth Seranno, gave a brief statement to the crush of media gathered outside, and said she was thrilled to have Amanda and Amanda's daughter home. She thanked everyone for their continued support, and asked they please respect their privacy during this special time.
Berry, Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight were rescued from a west side home on Monday, and have been in seclusion with their family. Knight remains in the hospital in good condition with family by her side.
It was revealed no human remains were found at Cleveland house where the three women were held against their will for years.
According to Cleveland Safety Director Marty Flask, a thorough search was conducted at the scene of 2207 Seymour Avenue. Again, no human remains were found.
But, according to Police Chief Michael MCGrath, chains and ropes were recovered from the homes. Police cannot confirm if or how they were used.
Berry, her young daughter Jocelyn, DeJesus and Knight were found in a house on Seymour Avenue Monday afternoon after Berry was heard by a neighbor screaming for help.
Berry went missing in 2003 a day shy of her 17th birthday. DeJesus disappeared as she walked home from school in 2004 at the age of 14. Knight went missing in 2002 at the age of 20.
Three brothers - Ariel Castro, Onil Castro and Pedro Castro - remain in police custody. Charges are pending.
