It come out most fans of The Crow are anger that hollywood is going to remake Bradon Lee's cult classic The Crow.

They would rather see another squal than a Remake,as they feel it will destroy the first one.

Now you know what Bruce Lee fans are going through when it was annouced that Enter The Dragon was to be remade as well. There is just no need for these mindless remakes. There are ideas out there that are boycotted by movie makers because they want to use formulas that have worked previously. Instead of bringing something new to the fold. Something new would earn them more respect from movie goers, but I guess it is just money they care about.

Lamberto Bava stated, when asked about a remake of his eighties horror movie Demons, that he wasn't approached about a remake idea for the movie, and he wont ever be a part of a remake of the movie. As he is tired of this remake-mania that is infecting the movie industry. And if you ask me, Lamberto Bava is one of a few that are against it. So his view is a refreshing one.

I am one of the fans that is angered at the remake, loved the original so much. One of my favorite films of all time with a great cast, great writing and great action sequences. I find it disgraceful that Hollywood now can not leave cult classics alone. No original ideas despite there being tons and tons of people going to film schools and writing some real great screenplays.

If they want newer audiences to see these films then just re-release the orignals, wont cost a penny to make thus all profit.

I'm open to the idea of a new film based on the 'The Crow' franchise. As i didn't partically like the Brandon Lee orginal. But i throughly enjoyed the tv show 'The Crow: Stairway to Heaven'.

At the risk of being picky, 'The Crow' is not the character of Eric Draven, it's just the bird.

As to Depp for Draven - nah - he doesn't strike me as mournful enough.

Can't help but wonder if a crow brought this thread back from the dead. ;)

I've seriously never been able to get my head around the notion that a remake will somehow ruin the original

The original will still be the same, nothing will have changed.

Years ago Depp might have been ok for the role but now I dont think so. And unfortunately it is likely we are going to have to put up with Jason Statham as Eric Draven, I am hoping his claims that he was approached about the role are him just trying to boost his own ego because he is completely wrong for it. How is a bald Englishman going to play a long haired, American, rock star?
