Criticism of President Obama: legitimate crtiticism vs. kooky rants?

I know that much criticism of our current President (Barack Obama) is perfectly (more or less) legit, but do some anti-Obama rants go a little too far (or way too far)? I won't cite any specific examples.

Among the criticisms I have heard that I would judge to be invalid are not so much rants, but just tired far-right talking points: the bigoted innuendo concerning suspicion about his birth nation, his race, connection to socialism and/or supposedly radical fiscal policy.

He's a middle of the road, conservative "Blue-Dog" Democrat for heaven's sake. Nothing about his administration has been particularly daring or remarkable....and THAT will most likely be his problem in 2012, not the kooky stuff.

All you have to do is scan this site to find kooky rants against the President. Many of them are outright ridiculous in their charges, but as propaganda, it can be effective if the reader doesn't check the facts. Goebbels once said that if you repeat a lie often enough, eventually people will begin to believe it.
