Criminal Justice debate topic...need help!?

Ok so I got assigned a topic for my CJ class that i need to prepare a debate on. My topic is 'Prisons should be allowed to have ethnically segregated units or buildings.' I am on the pro side, and I need to know the positives for this position. What do you think?

Remember, I need the positives of having ethnically segregated units or buldings, not the negatives. Thanks
 
Interesting topic .

Well for a start most prison violence comes from race and religion , all prisons have gangs , 90% of fights are to do with gangs and gangs are racially motivated so to keep them separate would stop this violence . Also it would make the correctional officers jobs a lot easier and of course safer .

Would also make religious services and getting stuff from the commissary easier . Black people need different products for hair skin than white people
