Is there anything involved in law enforcement that could encompass mechanical subjects? I'm thinking along the lines of analysis I guess. What education would I need? I love both genres and I'm good at mechanics(small engines, turning wrenches, trouble shooting), but love the thrill of problem solving that involves people and crime. Any suggestions? Thanks, I'm so looking forward to an answer as it would meld both of my passions!

Yes, there is! You are talking about Forensic Engineering. According to the American Academy of Forensic Science (AAFS), an undergraduate degree and graduate degree in engineering is required to be a Licensed or Registered Forensic Engineer.
