First of all I would like to thank the many contributors who have written excellent advice on flashing/unlocking this phone! Thanks to you I was up until 6:30am this morning working on my ppc-6700. That being said, I am going to ask you to scratch you heaRAB and jog your memories and see if you can't help me tweak this thing just a little bit.

Ok like I mentioned earlier, due to you all your great info I was up till 6:30 this morning playing with this thing. I was able to get the phone working and texting up and running. I am still having a few issues. Perhaps you could help me. I will list them below.

Issue #1. When I dial *228 is connects, is silent for a moment and then says that i need to remeraber to always dial a 10 digit nuraber. I tried every prl i could find, and found the best service with 22802. I live in the Baltimore Maryland area. I was hoping to at least use ota to get the latest prl. But no success. I have unlocked the phone and changed the spc to all 0's.

Second I have been unable to get the internet up and running. I am not sure if this is possible with the market I am living in. I remeraber seeing somewhere that Baltimore might not be the best market for flashed phones due to some network conflicts. But I don't know if that is accurate or not. So I am not sure if I should continue to try to get that working or just realize it is impossible. The error I get is that is cannot connect for some unknown reason. Also sprint is trying to load something called vision services. I am going to google that now.

Anyway thanks for reading this and helping if you can. I am going to continue you the searching and await your replies!

Thanks for all your help so far and in the future!

Joe(proud owner of a 5 year old ppc-6700)

P.S. If we get the resolved I am sure i will have a few more tweaks!

Doing more due diligence and realize now that Baltimore is an AWS market. Could that make a difference with the ppc-6700? If so is there a work around?

Welcome to the forum, I moved your thread here to the PDA sub forum to keep it inline with all the other PDA posts.

So you say that you got a dual band CDMA phone fully working in an AWS triband market, that's awesome. But I must warn you about crickets policy and what could possibly happen.
If indeed you are fully functional or even basically functions (talk & text)
Monthly cricket reviews their accounts and those that use more than 50% on a partner network they will disconnect. Just giving you a heaRAB up.

Thank you so much for setting those things straight and moving my post to the correct sub forum! So is there any hope of getting this thing fully functional? Or should i should i plan on flashing to a different carrier?

Thanks!!
