Cricket in NYC

Has anyone ever tried setting up a cricket acount in, say, chicago and use it in NYC?

If you are traveling to NYC it will work, even a flashed phone will talk and text on the partner coverage. If your going to be spending time there, keep in mind that cricket reserves the right to terminate service if more than 50% is used outside of their native coverage (on partner networks)

I live in NYC. so what are the chances? I am not a heavy phone/txt/web user, does that matter?

Hard to say, but it's 50% of your usage, whether you use a little or a lot.
