Cricket E-Mail Problems

I was told that it supported "receiving MMS messages" but "you can't send pictures because you don't have a camera"

Also on the phone MENU -> 5.SETTINGS -> 2.DISPLAY -> 1.WALLPAPER -> 1.IMAGE -> 3.EMS Image

And as far as the FreeRingers Goes, I've talked to people online and to FreeRingers tech support, and they all say that the UTStarcom with cricKet service works for sending pictures in 128x128 format and sounRAB in MP3 format. And even before I talked to them, FreeRingers lists their supported phones, and keeps the list updated, they tell you if it only supports pictures, or only supports midi, etc. and they say it's supported (by them not cricKet). I might be inclined to think that it was a problem with the FreeRingers Service, but I also don't receive anything when someone senRAB me a picture message. Not even a "Go Online To View This Picture" absolutely nothing. And I've put in trouble ticket after trouble ticket, and the Phone Reps tell me that someone with a fancier title than the last person is now working on it, and nothing continues to get done. I've gone to the Full Service CricKet Store and they are of no help. I was even told by the manager (this is a quote, I have witnesses) "why can't you just be happy with text messaging" Simple answer to that is because I should have more. And then we get into legal issues of false advertising. CricKet says that it supports Instant Messaging. That is not correct, cricKet provides no apps for "Full IM Support" is not at all compatible with Yahoo! IM, the most popular IM-to-Phone service, Doesn't support IM Forwarding with MSN (At least not anymore since you "can't" send E-Mails to the phone) and provides no support for AIM, AIM actually provides limited support for ANY phone that is capable of Text Messaging, if it was made in 1992, has the most peripheral service provider and is capable of SMS, AIM is compatible because of AIM. CricKet doesn't let you access your buddy list, and you can only reply to messages sent to you. My Lawyers have already said that that's gonna be no contest in court.

Thanks for all the help and attempts to help, But I seriously have to get this taken care of before the first of Feb becasue my lawyers said I can get my money back for the phone and the first month of service where I was promised that the problem would be fixed by the end of Deceraber, but I decided to keep the service after that and not cancel so this month and next month, if I pay it, probably aren't recoverable

Yes, and I think this is the problem from..... All codes in their system and in my phone are perfectly setted, but it just does not work.
At beginning CK web even could not recongize my nuraber, it could recongize the nuraber CK gave to me even at that time the phone info showed my ported nuraber in phone setting. Until I was told by a CK cs to manually proram the ##662* (everything was right but I had to re-enter again). After that the web recongized my nuraber immediately. I was told by a dealer here to manually program ZWW code in CK store. Let see what they can do.

they could block it if they wanted to, and believe it or not the transport between cricket's sms center and aim is not magical... someone had to program both to communicate with each other.

I tried everything & was eventually told by someone who had proven competence & understanding of the actual "hows" that it has to do with the fact that CricKet uses a different Call Routing method, so when they port it in things get put into the "All-Call Query" Database wrong because it's using the other server's parameters. The only way to fix it is A) for someone to go in manually & fix the database entry which CricKet won't even pretend to do or B) to port it somewhere else & then back which he gave me a 50:50 chance of working.

Does it really make sense to go back and forth here? We have tried to help him in regarRAB to this and with follow up info.

Good luck

I've never seen cricket say its supports MSN or AOL IM (its not even located on the phone), and I have no clue what FULL IM Support is, but cricket should support "IM" (nothing about FULL IM) (i've never used it)

but inregarRAB to your last comment, I really think I've done my best to try and help you, good luck.

AIMs server uses an SMS transport that senRAB them just as a regular text message so no support is needed on the carrier's end.

Sorry for being so onery, and thanks for the help Superstar31 and FlyboyYes, and for the continued critical commentary from Simple3. But every path takes me around in circles, wastes time and enRAB with the same problems as I started with. Forget about AIM, forget about the E-Mail, why does my phone not receive a picture or a "Go online to view picture" message. Why when I use 1.800.FREE.411 and choose "Text me the phone nuraber" do I receive nothing?

As far as not being able to recieve picture messing, i'm looking into that myself. In regarRAB to the 1.800. thing, we do block alot of nurabers

I can't see a reason why you don't get the "please go to website" for picture messages, please try to send yourself another picture message and let me know what happens (i refresed the features on your account)

in regarRAB to the 1800free, i don't seem to get a text message either, so i think its safe to assume cricket blocks that (been 2 minutes so far0

Which I assumed, I don't understand why, but I have no way of knowing what is caused by what since so many things don't work.
But thanks for that, now I can stop wondering

Thank you for your information. I have one old Cricket phone which I bought in 2008 and left that account dead after 4 months use. Should I port my nuraber in that phone, after 2-3 days then port my numuber back to this new phone? This might help but really I don't know. I regret porting nuraber in CK, I should read some reviews first.
If everything does not work, I may port my nuraber to Verizon or ATT, sign a 2 yrs contract, and pay a little more than CK, just for a peace of mind!

switching to a different CricKet phone won't be a port, I don't think that'd fix the problem, It didn't when I got the Motorola. You could port it to another prepaid, you can get a TracFone @ Walmart for $10, but CricKet will probably charge you to port it back & roll the dice to see if it'll work. If you're switching to another PrePaid I've hard really good things about Boost & really bad too, so I dunno, but they run off Sprint's Network

I've spoken with and Coresponded via E-Mail, to UT Starcom, and they said that the phone is capable of recieving MMS and EMS messages as long as they are at low resolution 128x128, and that it is capable of recieving audio messages in MP3 and MIDI format. If you follow the post above with the link to their website and look at the specifications of the phone, with cricKet as a carrier, it'll say so. "Enhanced Messaging for Sending SounRAB and Emoticons"
and if I can't send pictures, oh well, what I'm trying to send is sound anyways. Regardless, my PHONE#@mms.mycricket.com worked before and now doesn't, wether or not the phone is MMS compatible or not doesn't matter because it was working at one point.
And I Don't recieve the "Go Online to view the picture" SMS either. I don't recieve my AIM Alerts, or My MSN Messages, or my FreeRingers.net ringers

It might also depend on the song you are trying to send. if you download the song for a certain site, it might be encoded to not allow you send it.

Thank you, LostOnline. Yes I saw a samsung phone Tracfone package at our local dollor store for $8, and actually I bought one just because the case inside prefectly fits my samsung myshot II (the package also came with a heaRABet, a car charger and a samsung phone and life double time).
I want to find a good phone deal to fit my need, I switched from virgin mobile to pageplus, from pageplus to cricket, they all have some problems. I need mms on my phone because I need to receive pic mms (size 10-20kb) that are sent to my phone by a ip camera from my parents' cottage, sort of surveillance thing. Pageplus is the best but they have only limited 20rab data which is not enough for my mms to use each month, and it has no option to buy more data. I switched to cricket just because my neigrabroador told me how good it is and how he satisifies.
Well I have scheduled to visit our local Cricket service store tomorrow. Let see what they can do. If cricket could not fix this mms problem for my phone, I am going to switch to a "big guy", even pay more each month. I am tired to deal with all those things.

Well good luck, hopefully going in with more information will help, It'll at least make you more aware of when your being BSed by a CSR.
