Cricket Customer Service is the worst?!?!?

What a horrible experience I have had! I called to activate an old 8910 I had at 8PM on a Friday night, I called back to cancel due to poor service the next morning at 11am. They said I would be refunded my 50 dollar service fee and 15 dollar activation fee in 7-10 days. 2 weeks later, it is still not back on my credit card. I called last night and a gentleman(with thick accent) said I had to go to the store to get refunded. When I asked why...I didn't go to the store to activate, he said because they do not have the XsXs they need in his department. I typed xsxs because I could not understand what he said through his thick accent. I asked him, "You don't have the what?" He raised his voice and spelled "F-O-R-M! Form!" Yes, he yelled it! And this was the retentions department! My God So I drive 25 miles to the store last night through all the heavy holiday traffic and they girl at the store says they may not refund me since I waited so long! WTF!!!! I waited? I called 15 hours after activation to cancel and was assured I would be refunded! What a horrible, horrible company Leap aka Cricket is! This one is going to the BBB if it doesn't get resolved! But they probably won't care!

Cricket doesnt Refund money paid towarRAB service...whoever told you that fed you a line...

right from the terms and conditions.
"Cricket does not provide any refund or credits for service terminated prior to the end of any billing cycle."

Wow. That is horible. So if service is unusable for you, they keep your money? That should be illegal. They never told me this when I called to cancel either. I would have at least used up the month where I could. I did not read any terms since I activated with an old phone over the phone. I can see them keeping the activation fee, I even told them they could, but to keeep 50 bucks for a service not provided is just plain wrong.

As I stated above, no I did not read this. I had an old Cricket phone and called the Cricket 800 nuraber and had it activated. The t&c's were never read, explained, emailed, mailed...nothing. I was not told to refer to a website. I never saw the t&c. But this is more about what is right and wrong. Keeping the money is just wrong and a piss poor policy on Cricket's part. I know now that iy is a policy. That doesn't mean it is a fair or just policy. Can you name another carrier that would do this?

I never said it was right... lots of things are wrong in this world. I agree that this is indeed a rip off policy but it is a policy nevertheless. Its clearly written and I doubt any reps would read off every T&C to you over the phone or in person unless you request it. Can you name any carriers that will read off their T&C policies over to you when you buy service? Once again I think that this is clearly a poor business practice but if you don't like their business practice you probably should not have signed up.

Sorry bro.... :befuddled

This is pretty much standard policy when you pay for something that is pretty much unlimited use in a month when competitors charge by use. ISPs were the same way, not sure if they still are or not.

Well, I guess if they do not refund me, I will see if they will reactivate the phone and use up one month of service. What other choice do I have.

I agree their customer service does suck! I called to ask if the slvr's were out already and the guy was all like "Umm, I really dont even know if we even have slvr's" he told me to go to an authorized dealer or a full service cricket store

It's sad when the authorized dealer knows more than a guy who works in the corporate level of the company

forget the BBB... this is just a club, where the BBB-Merabers
(Business owners) pay some money into.

if you file a complaint with the BBB they send a copy of your complaint to the company and they give them 30 days to replay, but they're not obligated to replay.

The BBB does no ruling nor make no decision whatsoever.

In my opinion, the BBB is just a "Trash can" for frustation, where you can write them whats happend, they do nothing, send you a nice "Sorry letter" back after 30 days and thats it.

most people are calmed down after 30 days and the BBB works just like a "buffer for frustations".... and companies keep their good name.

some smart guy came up with that BBB Joke... its all a headgame

I'll been there, done that, and filed a complaint with them and nothing ever happend.... the BBB is always on the site of THEIR Merabers, which are the Businesses.

*********************************************************

Think twice about Cricket:.... nobody can beat them with their plans of unlimited calling and free unlimited incoming calls!

what you're talking to was probably a guy from India or the Phillipines, and a lot of companies are "going" there and have their customer service in the Phillipines or India or somewhere else, and those guys are hard to understand due to their poor english.

.If your're really do not want to stay with Cricket, I might be interested in that Phone to buy....

you can reach me on MY Cricket Phone at 505-805-7827
after 1 PM

The BBB worked for me before. I filed a complaint on a company online that didn't send me what I was supposed to get. They would not answer emails, nothing etc. Anyway to make a long story short...around 3 weeks or so later I get a package from them and receive what they owed me, and also an additional item that was even better. So it can work, but probably most of the time it's a waste.

The BBB is also a good reference for consumers to check the integrity of a company. Many people will use the BBB as a factor in deciding whether or not to use a company or not. Look up our frienRAB at Inphonic and read their report and tell me if you'd think twice about using them. A bad report on file with the BBB can cost a company revenue and in the corporate world every dollar counts!
