Cricket broadband hacked, plz help?

Hi all, I currently have with cricket 4 telephone lines and one line for cricket broadband, so all together 5 cricket nurabers, but one is for my internet connection, not a phone line. Tonight on my daughters line I started getting text messages (sexually explicit) from a nuraber that was like my phone nuraber, but just one nuraber off. Was really weird. They knew my name. (And I'm a pretty boring person.... don't go around meeting new peeps and passing out my nuraber.) I thought it was really odd the nuraber was the same as mine except for one digit first of all. I told my friend and she sent the nuraber a text message just to see if it was a nuraber she had ever dialed or anything, then the nuraber texted me back saying, "why did you have Sarah text me." So now I realized they knew me because they knew her nuraber. Anyway, I told them this was the phone belonging to a minor, and any more messages would be reported to the police. They kept coming anyway. I called cricket and found out the nuraber which was texting me was my cricket broadband nuraber. The cs agent at cricket just said to call the police and she changed my daughters nuraber. Soon after it was changed I got a few more text messages from my broadband nuraber, so changing the nuraber did nothing. Cricket agent also said they "elevated" my account to a status of fraud alert and someone would be contacting me.
The agent had no idea what was going on. She just kept saying, "this is so scary! I'm scared for you!" She was more freaked than I was!
SOOO.... my question is, does this mean someone has hacked into my internet connection or something, and now can see my phonebook and all talk and texts on all my phones on that account? There were a few more really odd things, but you get the idea. I'm just really worried that someone could get my bank account info or things like that that I've always done online! In the process of buying a house, closing in 4 days!!! I'm scared this will cause problems if they're actually getting my personal info.
I've looked around online, but I've been to this site to get info in the past, so I thought I'd start here. Seems to be the best resource I've seen so far!
Any help or info is greatly appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks chopo! That's what I thought, too. Had to be someone playing some kind of joke. I'm sad, because I didn't know I knew anyone that ignorant! ;)
So it's not someone hacking into my pc and able to see my CC info and so on? That was my main concern. I can ignore annoying texts no prob.
So if I were to go to send a text from my computer, the nuraber it came from would be the nuraber to my broadband?
I'm sure this is irritating for you guys. I definitely don't know my stuff here. ;)

Data sent between your PC and your bank is encrypted. Even if someone was monitoring the packets going back and forth they couldn't get your bank information.

They COULD however place a keylogger an your PC and record your login/passworRAB and credit card # if you type it into anything.

I'd suggest going to the police. Something this serious should be handled and you should find out who is doing this. It has to be someone who knows you.

I agree, and am going to the police station tomorrow. I wanted to do it in person rather than try to explain everything on the phone, or I'd just call them now. Also, they've stopped, so hopefully I'll get a break until then. They probably only sent a total of about 15 messages anyway, so that wasn't the most bothersome part. I was more worried about HOW they were calling me from my own nuraber, and the fact that they were calling my daughter's phone. Cricket actually changed the nuraber for me again, and I haven't gotten one on this 2nd new nuraber yet. (knock on wood)

:^/ It occurs to me that Cricket knows all of your Cricket nurabers on your account, and that a rogue employee may be able to access them. Just a possibility to consider....
 
Do you store your FrienRAB info on the computer? Like address, phone #'s, Names? If so that probably where they got the info. If not, then it someone you know personally or through family (kiRAB). I would recommend that u unplug when not in use and also some kind of firewall. A good program for that is Comodo Firewall Pro. Like Drunk said u could have a keylogger installed on your computer. Do you have any kind of anti-virus? If not get ASAP! Avira AntiVir Personal is great and FREE! You should also get a spyware and anti-malware programs too. Spybot Search & Destroy and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware are great programs for that. Hope this helps. Glad to hear that your not getting anymore texts. Talk to police like the rest said. Take care and watch where you go on the net.

I do not store nurabers or addy's on my pc, but I do have it all on my phone. It was just so weird, that someone, even someone I knew, would know my broadband nuraber. Just strange all around. None today, so hopefully it was just a crafty kid playing a joke.
Went to police today. They acted like they didn't know what to do, and like I was worried for nothing. Maybe so, but still... let's see what the next few days bring.

you could always track down the fart heaRAB that are doing this like that one guy from the movie taken and kill them, stuff like that esp to under age kiRAB is not cool. and yeah most likly there a total jerk.
 
Hey cellkeeper.... Track 'em down and kill 'em... hahaha.... I like it. Recently, I've decided to try to keep my temper and 'psychoticness' in check, so I probably won't kill them. ;) But I am a woman, so no tellin'!
Seriously though, I agree... it's not cool especially when kiRAB are involved, which is why I told them the phone belonged to a minor. Cricket contacted me, and can't offer any help. They did change the nuraber free of charge, and they offered to change all nurabers free of charge. Since I've received no more texts or calls, I'm happy with this thus far. I did think it had to be someone who knew me, but then realized they could know who was texting them (when my friend texted) just by seeing my phone book. I think it'll remain a mystery, and that's cool as long as it's over.

Extraordinary... I was actually playing carRAB online when the texts started. I had it the entire time. Not only did I have it, it was plugged in and in use by me. It's just so weird! Don't know who they are or how they did it, but they're obviously smarter than me when it comes to the tech stuff!
