Official release next thursday. should be tricklin in to dealers before that.

tri-band
evdo rev a capable
microsd reader up to 4gb
NDIS compatable and software is loaded from device not from cdrom.
119.99 MSRP $50 Mail In Rebate.

need any other details just ask but i think that covers the key points.

OK so NDIS *basically* means the computer just recognizes it as a regular network device and it is "always on" and does not require to be dialed.

Note: There is NO CD in the box. The software automatically loads when you plug the modem into your computer thats pretty cool

so that means no more um100c ?

We received the yesterday I got curios about the functions and speed so I activated me one but I got so dissapointed because I haven't been able to connect to EVDO and I had problems setting up with my computer

talk to your rep! it is a network problem activating new broadband account the last few days. it is not exclusive to the a600. all devices affected kpc650, um100, and a600. ONLY new lines, old lines seem to be fine.

cricket is working to resolve.
problem appears to be nationwide and affecting indirect activations only.

Wirelessly posted (Opera/9.5 (Microsoft Windows; PPC; Opera Mobi/15316; U; en))

we are premier thanks for the advice will contact my rep

i should be specific i guess. it is affecting activations done through CID-ISR, apparently CID-RSR is working fine, at least that was the last update i heard.

Any HoFoers using this EV-DO USB modem yet? How's it compare to other EV-DO modems you've used? What kind of speeds are you getting both on the downstream and on the upstream?

If you don't know how to measure your download and upload speeds, I recommend using the internet speed test at PCPitstop.Com... it's more accurate and reliable than SpeedTest.Net.

What kind of speeds are you getting for download and upload?

Again, you can click the link in my last post and use the Internet Speed Test there to check your speeds.

I just did the speed test from the site you choose and this was the results.

I have 2 out of 4 lights on the modem so signal is not that strong.

Last Result:
Download Speed: 504 kbps (63 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 96 kbps (12 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 318 ms

Hmmm... a little slower than I expected, but then again, you DID have onl 2 bars of signal strength, so maybe that impacted your speed. All the same, thanks for posting your results!

Anyone else using this USB air card? What kind of speeds are you guys (or gals) seeing?
