Last night I dreamt that I was at my old boarding school, but I was already married to my current husband! Our double bed was in my room instead of my school bed, with the same covers and everything that we have now.
I dreamt that one day when it got dark just before we had to go to bed, all these brown mice and rats came out of nowhere, and started crawling all over and under the sheets and bed. I'm scared shitless of them in real life, and I also was in my dream. I ran away and shouted for everyone else to help me, including my husband.
Everyone gathered in one of the senior teachers' offices, and the vermin problem had even spread there! They were eating through the building foundations, causing the walls to fall in around us. Everyone was in chaos, but one of the other teachers came up to me, shouting really loudly, 'I know what caused this! Look what I found in ____'s (my) room!' It was a bunch of food wrappers. They didn't even acknowledge that both my husband and me shared that room - they were convinced that he was innocent and it was all MY fault. Even he was saying he was disappointed in me.
At that point, everyone said they weren't going to help me, just themselves, and that I would still have to sleep in the vermin-infested room. I was gutted, but had to accept it.
Eventually, I think someone did arrive and exterminate, but for a while it was really scary!
What the heck could this mean? I'm experiencing some trauma in my marriage right now, trying to deal with something my husband did a while ago (not cheating). Is my dream related to this in any way?
