credit card interest rate hike ?

I tried to call (rape of america) B OF A to get my interest rate reduced
it went from 11 % to 23 % with no late payments
they would not budge
if I tell them I am pondering bankruptcy will they maybe reduce the rate or will they just document that I said the word bankruptcy and tell me go pound sand.
any ideas much helpful the interest is 80% of my payment thats just rape

I work from paycheck to paycheck and this is just hi-way robbery
 
can you transfer the balance to a lower rate card?

was there anything else that caused the rate to go up (being over limit)?

if you tell them you can't pay, they often reduce the rate because they want some money back, even if it's not what they originally wanted.
