For an assignment, I have to write about important myths for the Catholic religion. My first pick was the Creation stories, and since it's not historically true, the question Is, What does the myth seek to explain ?
I also need help to find another mythical story, so like the creation stories, a story that didn't actually happen but tells us something, whether it be about God or about people, something else it explains ?

Not everything in the Bible is true. It's been proven that the world couldn't have been created in 6 days. The creation stories are supposed to be a metaphor explaining something else, but the actual story is not true, they could be explaining something that's true about God or something. But no they are not true and everything in the Bible is not true.
I go to a Catholic school, and my religion teacher is not an Atheist. How am I supposed to gain 'truths' when we've been taught that the creation stories did not actually happen, but are telling us a message instead ?
