He purchased an LED illumination box—the engine that powers the whole affair—and bundles of fiber optic cable. From there it was a matter of mapping out the star pattern he wanted, drilling holes, and stuffing a fiber-optic strand into each one. The end result definitely seems more than worth the labor. We think you'd be hard pressed to find any child—or adult!—who wouldn't love a ceiling of stars that actually twinkle.
