
This is one of those projects that is mechanically simple but oh so time consuming. He purchased an LED illumination box—the engine that powers the whole affair—and bundles of fiber optic cable. From there it was a matter of mapping out the star pattern he wanted, drilling holes, and stuffing a fiber-optic strand into each one. The end result definitely seems more than worth the labor. We think you'd be hard pressed to find any child—or adult!—who wouldn't love a ceiling of stars that actually twinkle.
