I hav been playing snare drum on my drumline for almost 3 years now, and am one of the 2 captains of the drumline and im good (can always get better) but i can play everything on snare for my audition piece so im not worried bout that. Even though i am auditioning for college band on snare i want to play cymbals or tenor. I hav already had experience playing tenor drum but i haven't really been on cymbals that much and that's really wat i want to play in college. i have asked my drum instructor to let me switch to cymbals this year (senior year) so i can practice an b ready to do it in college. he's kinda old lol so he keeps forgetting and we hav a drumline competition commin up so he'll probably want me to stay on snare til that's over (in january). i can play cymbals but i really need to work on flashing/twirling so my question is, how can i practice cymbals at home without the cymbals until i can play them full time on the line? thnx!
i heard u can use pillows to practice twirlling. thts wat i hav been doing..
