Cramps that travel through the body

I get cramps in my foot periodicaly. However, a couple of nights ago I was laying on my couch and my foot crampt up. I began to move my foot. As I moved it, the cramp extended to my legs and up to my torso. It was a very frightening experience. I was concerned that it would move to my heart. Should I see my doctor.

Get a bottle of tonic water (I think this contains quinnine water) and drink a glass of this at night. I was experiencing foot and leg cramps at night and my doctor suggested this instead of giving me a rx for quinnine (he knows that I really do not like to take medication unless I really need too). My foot and leg cramps disappeared within days. Cramping in extremities can also be a signal that your potassium is low. Start eating food that are high in potassium...bananas, yogart, sweet potatoes...read your food labels.

I hope this helps.
