...done with it? We took my car in today because it's been running hard - the mechanic said there was a small crack in a head gasket. He said to keep the car full of antifreeze and not to run it to hard. But everything I am reading is alarming and says not to drive AT ALL. The problem is, I don't really have a choice. I can't not drive my car to school in the dead of winter, know what I mean? This car is a POS, I am planning on trading it in and buying a nice, used car in March. So I am stuck wondering - should I just drive it until March when I have to and take my chances? Do you think three months of driving is going to blow the engine? I really don't want to drop the money on repairs - they will cost more than the car! But if I don't have any other option, I guess I have to. What do you think?

replacing that is going to be really expensive because of the labor. you can buy an additive that you put in with your oil and it makes the gasket swell up. it might stop the leak all together if its small. the economy sucks i'm sure mechanics are worse then ever about trying to get work done. i'd spend the 10 bucks on the additive before i go spending a hundreds to replace a 1 dollar part.

Park it...kiss it goodbye.....and acquire a really long thumb......
Junk IS Junk......if it breaks down anywhere, then you will get a tow bill.
At least it will still run come March when you trade it in.....maybe....
