Covertec case for T3?

I have read a lot of discussions about the questionable merits of different cases for T3. As I am looking for something sturdier than the leather flap, which came with the Palm, I have been considering both the aluminium hard case and the leather case with belt clip included.
I lean towards the leather case especially because of the belt clip; but pictures and praises from the producer can be misleading, so if anyone has had personal experience with this, please give me Your unbiased opinion. Is it practical? is it durable? does it give good protection to the rather expensive machine?

Jacques,

I've used Covertec cases both for my T665 and Psion 5mx and they gave good service. They have enough protection to save your T3 from a normal fall and you can get cases that allow to use the camera without taking the T3 out of the case. There's no doubt that an aluminum case will provide better protection than any leather case but I've found that I need to use a case as my wallet if I'm really to get value out of a PDA - it won't do me much good if I leave it at home. I'm currently using a case by Lodis that has enough space for credit cards and bills as well as my T665 and still provides reasonable protection.

Jacques,

Ive been using the Palm hardcase for abt 4 months now, and it's pretty good. It's incedibly snazzy, and it keeps the palm pretty secure. It's also got slots to store two SD cards.

I accidentally dropped the palm yesterday onto a marble floor from desk height. After the initial heart arrest, there was absoltuely no damage to the palm in any manner whasoever.

The flip side is that : a). you have to take it out of the case to charge it, which can get annoying, and b). It's abt 5-7 mm thicker than it needs to be, IMHO.

After using a case(forgot it's brand) for months, i decided not to use it. maily cuz the handheld get bigger when in a case, hard to carry. And i think it's unconvenient to use a case, everytime i have to unfold it first.
And without the protect for months, my handheld just get some tiny scatches.

The only problem is how to protect the screen without a case, when put in pocket. I put the handheld in pocket face in side, the screen face to my lap. The screen never get crashed.

I use the Sena case. I had one on my last Palm and loved it. It doesn't add much bulk to the Palm, and you can Hotsynch without taking it out of the case. Can also use the Palm folding keyboard without taking it out of the case. In fact, I can't think of anything I don't like about the Sena case!

Thanks for the input, although obviously no one knew anything about the specific case I asked about.
As my old Palm belt case broke down 3 days ago, I have ordered the Covertec and I hope it will live up to the good marks this make was given by Jim Cooke. I would buy a hardcase, if it came with a good belt clip; but this combination seems to be quiter rare.

Jacques,

I am looking to purchase a case as well. I found this hard Al case at the URL below. It looks intersting since it has a removable belt clip and it also has two SD/MM card slots in it as well. It looks like it could take a beating.

There are other cases here as well.

I can vouch for the above aluminium case, which I've used for about three months; it stands up to all bangs (so far!). It is a pain in that I have to remove the PDA to set it in the cradle but I'll live with that.

It will work with my mini sync box wave usb cable (after a little bit of effort). Ibought mine via EBay, but can't off hand remember the cost.

Hope that this is of some help.

OK, I got my Covertec yesterday. It seems well made, not outstanding, but useful.
If I had had the link robpm before I ordered, I believe I would have bought that one.
I keep the link on my desktop to use it, if the other case breaks down too early
