court over the phone?

He has to go to California to go to court for his divorce, is there anyway he can set it up that he could just do it over the phone. there's a kid involved though and I don't know if its more difficult because of that. I know my dad did court over the phone once..im not sure what it was for though.

He can avoid court all together if he agrees to the distribution of the property and the child support.

There is no legal requirement that both parties attend the court hearing, as long as he agrees he can sign an agreed order and mail it to his attorney before the hearing.

If he wants to contest any of the terms of the divorce he must attend in person.
