Count of Monte Cristo or Don Quixote?

Ok, so I am thinking of reading one of the more famous novels, just for interest, not for a book report or anything. I've made a list of a bunch of different famous books, and narrowed it down to these 2, because they seem like interesting books. They seemed adventurous. Have any of you guys ever read either of these books, and what did you think about them? And, if you did read a "famous" novel, and really enjoyed it, list them. Thanks
