I'm writing a poem for a competition which can be about absolutely anything, or preferably something important to us. It can be written how we want, it doesn't even have to rhyme. Anyway, I chose to base mine on the beauty of the world and how unappreciated it can be. So, this is what I've written so far:
The world is so beautiful, yet we don't treat it with care,
We never appreciate the beauty it can share,
Why not stop to marvel at the wonderful trees,
And the delicate leaves that float on the breeze.
Take note of seasons and the pretty sights they bring,
Spring with new life and the birds come out to sing,
Summer brings sun and flourishing flowers,
Autumn brings falling leaves and later hours,
And finally there's Winter where all stands still,
A blanket of snow and robins on the window sill.
Notice the weather and the beauty it possesses,
I'm starting to struggle with it now...could you perhaps give me a hand? Or improve it if you could?
